Hi Jane, thanks for that. I do know nights must be really bad for me as I'm so tired a lot of the time. Although I have to continue to do nights i'm going to do less and try to work it so I sleep more. I was doing acupuncture until the point where they scared me! I was 8 wks pregnant and they said my pulses were so weak, not of a pregnant woman and they did not want to treat me any longer until I'd had a scan. I did have a scan a few days later and baby had a strong heart beat. Unfortunately about a week after the scan, baby died. I have to say I was freezing cold at the time but didn't want to warm myself up because I was suffering from hyperemesis (severe morning sickness). But i'm sure the baby died because of her condition (edwards Syndrome) and not because of my cold uterus. I was also taking chinese herbs. No 26. disgusting tea. I am happy to start taking it again and go to acupuncture although they say its more beneficial to take the herbs than the actual acupuncture itself, but I do find it so relaxing. I do think it benefits me except that they want me to wait for 6 months before trying again. Unfortunately it's all so expensive so cant do it all. I drink decaf coffee, is that ok for trying to conceive? Many thanks, Donna

If you do have QI-stagnation then therapies that work on moving your Qi are well indicated as is exercise. What kind of exercise is best for you depends on how robust your constitution is. If your choice of exercise only makes you feel good on the same day but overall has an effect of lowering your immune system, tires you out or make you "too hyper and driven then it's not Fertility Friendly.

If you have a weak constitution that's where herbs prescribed for you as an individual works very well to restore adrenal function that has been trashed by over-responsiveness to stress.

There are some great breathing exercises that move Qi but do not trash the adrenals as can overdoing it at the gym can. I hope to get a exercise on YouTube over this weekend. Will let you know...... Is that helpful for you?

Hi Donna, I wish I could give you a pointer to something you can do that will improve your Fertility strength. My opinion is that you should do less. Less is likely to be more in your situation. Working nights is likely to be a significant strain to your adrenalsb which means from a TCM perspective you'll be weakening your Kidney Yang. I wish I could offer some advice which meant you can get everything you want. Are you still having acupuncture treatment? Do you feel you are benefiting (if you are not doing your temps you can usually tell via energy levels and changes in your baseline signs and symptoms).

Chinese herbal medicine could boost your treatment further. Does your acupuncturist do herbs?

Hi Jane, I'm 43 and have had 2 boys (18) and (5) and in the last 16 months have had 3 miscarriages and a chemical pg. first mc was at 5wks, spontaneous, natural mc. 5 months later I had ivf (advised to by fertility clinic due to age and AMH level of 5.53 uk scale)Produced 8 eggs, 5 fertilised, 3 put back and one made it to blastocyst and is currently in storage. Didn't get pregnant. Following month fell pg naturally, had blighted ovum at 9 wks and ERPC. 6 months later fell pg naturally, baby's heartbeat stopped about 9+6 although didn't find out till 11+1. Baby was a girl with Edwards Syndrome. I've had a lot of acupuncture and diagnosed with kidney and spleen yang deficiency. took Chinese meds for a couple of months prior to falling pg with my little girl. Acupuncurist told me not to get pg for 6 months but due to my age I cant stop ttc now. I dont know what to do. I cant do temping as work nights so it wont be accurate. I am sure I keep losing these babies due to my age and that my eggs aren't good anymore. is there anything i can do to help this. many thanks

Your response is very helpful and from what you say, I'm Qi stagnant. I take regular exercise (a minimum of 1hr a day of 'rapid' walking) which gives me energy but it doesn't seem to be enough.

One thing I can become more conscious of is my breathing, while I'm walking and, in general. I carry around quite a lot of stress and frustration, even though I've changed my lifestyle to a far less stressful one. What I'm going to take on is making sure that I'm breathing deeply enough.

It would be great to see some breathing techniques that I could take on. As for the Chinese herbal medicine, although I'm told they're effective, I'm taking so many supplements already so I'm not willing to take any more.
